STAY WITH THE FEELING AND YOU CAN DECIDE WHEN IT’S ENOUGH

What is incredibly inspiring, fascinating and unique of the Volunteer Park Conservatory (Seattle) is the way that architecture and nature meet. The moment one walks through the doors all the senses are completely engaged in a rich experience and the body is immersed in scents, colors, textures, temperatures and shapes. The 1912 historical Victorian Architecture mostly composed of metal and glass holds the lush and organic nature that is inside of it, gently spilling in all directions.

MALACARNE took inspiration from the architecture, the history, the plants and our personal histories in relationship to the Volunteer Park Conservatory creating a unique and intimate experience. The idea was to create a one hour long immersive dance performance with 7 dancers in collaboration with composer ings who created a soundscape for us and the space. Our intention is to focus and deepen what the Conservatory already does which is deepen the connection between people and nature.
